Switch up your breakfast routine with our delicious Oatmeal Breakfast Smoothie! I like to alternate this with my other typical breakfasts (eggs & toast, overnight oats or cream of wheat) throughout the week.
It is really important for us to start our day with a delicious and nutritious meal that will help jump start our morning. This smoothie is full of a few simple ingredients that pack a ton of nutrients and is vegan and refined-sugar free.
Oats: A great way to incorporate whole grains into your diet. They are an excellent source of fiber, vitamins, minerals and a unique group of antioxidants that are believed to help protect against heart disease. They can also help lower blood sugar and cholesterol.
Bananas: Bananas are a good source of several vitamins and minerals. They are an excellent source of potassium. Studies show potassium rich diets can help lower blood pressure. Bananas are also a good source of vitamin B6 and vitamin C.
Peanut Butter: Peanut butter is a great option to add to your smoothies. However, you want to make sure you are buying peanut butter with no added sweeteners or sugar, or without any added oils such as palm oil. All natural peanut butter is high in healthy fats which can help be a great energy booster. It is also high in protein and potassium which help lower the risk of high blood pressure and heart disease. Peanut butter is also an excellent source of fiber, magnesium and antioxidants.
Dates: Dates provide a significant amount of antioxidants, are rich in B vitamins and iron, promote digestion, can improve bone health and help lower cholesterol.
All you need is a blender and 5 ingredients and you are ready to start your day with a tasty and healthy smoothie. We hope you enjoy!
